Gene Expressions: Decoding the RAS-RAF Pathway
The RAS-RAF pathway is central to how our cells grow, but when parts of it become mutated it could lead to cancer.
The RAS-RAF pathway was one of the first signaling pathways discovered to cause cancer. Today, it is an important and evolving area of cancer research. In many types of cancer, mutations cause components of the RAS-RAF pathway to become “locked on”. This can lead to overactive signals that may lead to cancer. Chris Bowden, VP of Product Development at Genentech, gives us a close-up look at the RAS-RAF pathway.
