The Position

Project Manager – IT (Genentech – South San Francisco)

The MCCO Solutions team in IT Americas is looking for a motivated Project Manager to lead the delivery of technology projects in support of US Commercial Operations. The IT Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of technical solutions through effective planning and execution throughout all phases of the project management methodology. The PM will be responsible for managing assigned resources, effectively tracking budgets and financial forecasts, creating and tracking detailed project plans, leading and facilitating project meetings as well as proactively controlling project scope, risks and issues. This PM position will be accountable for projects in the MCCO Solutions group for the Commercial Customer Operations portfolio.

Duties:

* Define, plan, and lead the execution of technical implementation projects, while balancing the competing demands of scope, time, cost, quality, resources, and risk

* Ensure project objectives/requirements are clear and agreed to by all stakeholders

* Manage relationships with various technology vendors/partners and business stakeholders to achieve project objectives

* Establish and maintain effective communication for assigned projects and with dependent projects

* Ensure successful and timely completion of deliverables

* Track progress against baseline schedule

* Plan, baseline and control costs to ensure projects are completed within approved budget

* Suggest process improvements where appropriate to improve operational efficiencies

* Conduct risk management planning, identification, analysis and monitoring on projects

* Other duties as assigned

Who You Are

Requirements:

* Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a successful Information Technology Project Manager using structured project management processes

* Proven ability to obtain results in a matrix environment

* Track record of delivering projects on time and on budget

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

* Demonstrated success communicating across a variety of audiences, including 

business people and technologists (both up and down the organization)

* Excellent listening, problem solving, negotiation, and facilitation skills

* Ability to manage projects across global locations/time zones 

* Life sciences industry and commercial process knowledge preferred

* Plus: Experience with Order To Cash, Distribution, and/or B2B processes

* Plus: Experience delivering technical solutions for Managed Care & Customer Operations (e.g., SAP, ValueCentric, Revitas or similar solutions) 

* Plus: PMP Certification

Education:

Relevant Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, Life Sciences, Business; or equivalent experience
