The Position

We are seeking an outstanding individual for theposition of a Research Associate / Senior Research Associate within theBiochemical and Cellular Pharmacology department. The successful candidate willbe responsible for supporting research projects in the disease therapeuticareas of immunology and/or immunotherapy as part of the biologics drugdiscovery program at our South San Francisco campus. The individual will be expectedto work independently in developing and performing immunochemical, biochemical,and cell-based assays to support candidate selection, potency, efficacy, andpharmacokinetic studies as well as immunogenicity evaluation andpharmacodynamic biomarker measurements. In addition, the individual will incorporateautomation into his/her daily work and apply novel technologies in assaydevelopment.


Who You Are

A BS or MS in Immunology, Tumor Biology, CellBiology, Biochemistry, or a related field with at least 5 years ofbiopharmaceutical industry experience is required. Proven expertise in cell-basedassays, biochemical ligand binding assays, and quantitative ELISAs isessential. Experience in developing assays for quantification of antibodytherapeutics and protein biomarkers in various biological matrices is also required.  The candidate should have basic immunologyand protein/antibody biochemistry knowledge. Experience with FACS, molecularbiology, or automation is a plus. The candidate should be self-motivated.He/she should possess excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, strongoral/written communication skills, quick learning capabilities, the ability tomultitask, and experience with interdepartmental or external collaborations.
