The Position

Responsibilities:

This position will focus on supporting our PD Engineering Data Analysis Key Focus Area. The primary responsibilities include developing, implementing and supporting novel data analysis tools. The data analysis tools include, among others, multivariate analysis, applied statistics, modeling, optimization and other applied mathematical fields. The data analysis tools will aim at increasing the efficiency in different development groups, pilot plant and large-scale manufacturing sites. A significant part of the time will include analyzing process data from different organizational groups and transforming them from data to knowledge. The new hire will interact with vendors and customers, perform experiments in lab and pilot plant scale and identify new opportunities to bring more efficiencies to our customers in the field of data analysis. Efficient oral and written communications as well as good collaboration skills are expected.


Who You Are

Requirements:

MS/PhD in chemical, biochemical or mechanical engineering with strong emphasis in some applied mathematical field. Ability to program and use different software tools such as Matlab and review in-depth theoretical literature is a must. Strong engineering principles and experience in lab or pilot plant or large scale manufacturing equipment and operations is required. Knowledge of automation and industrial engineering communications is a plus. Other skills include project management, problem solving, and flexibility to address changing priorities as well as the ability to work independently and in teams. The candidate should be highly motivated, curious, have good interpersonal and collaborative skills.

The candidate will work in Process Development Engineering (PDE) within the Global Technical Development (PTD) Organization.  PDE is a multidisciplinary engineering group that works on a number of different projects supporting pilot plant operations, gRED, clinical and commercial manufacturing in the areas of Disposables Technologies, BioProcessing Equipment and Technologies, Process Monitoring: Systems, Sensors and Data Technologies, Material of Construction for process contacting operations and Cleaning Science.
