The Position
This position is for a Process Engineer I/ Process Engineer II (E2/E3) reporting to the Senior Manager of Process Engineering in the Technology Department. The Process Engineering group’s mission is to apply engineering expertise to implement, maintain, and improve Equipment, Facilities, and Utilities systems capabilities to enable reliable manufacture and release of protein therapeutics to our patients. The process engineer will work on cross-functional project teams, providing engineering leadership and support in the delivery of expense/capital projects and engineering services at the Vacaville Manufacturing Facility.Responsibilities:
The Process Engineer I/Process Engineer II (E2/E3) will provide engineering support to various areas, including cell culture, protein recovery and purification, manufacturing support equipment, and general and critical utilities systems.
The process engineer will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, including initiation, design, construction, implementation, commissioning and qualification, and will be responsible for the following:
Process engineering and project management support of expense and capital projects
Project scope, option analyses, engineering design and execution plans.
System and equipment design and procurement, engineering documentation such as PFDs, P&IDs, URSs, Design Specifications, RFQs, contractor bid packages, equipment data sheets, piping isometrics, and Installation Qualification
Oversight and coordination of construction contractors
The process engineer will be involved in providing support for other activities at the site and will be responsible for the following:
Process engineering support in investigations and CAPAs
Collaboration with peers in the continuous improvement of technical infrastructure, including engineering standards, practices, specifications, procedures and business processes
Who You Are
Requirements:
B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years pharmaceutical industry or related experience.
Strong proficiency in engineering principles and techniques, and demonstrated ability in successfully applying that knowledge.
Strong technical leadership, able to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with technical, operations, maintenance, quality and senior management personnel.
Project experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, demonstrated ability as process engineering representative in equipment/system installations and modifications, and knowledge of cGMP.
