Loralee (mother):
"The twins were diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. They were almost four. They had had chronic lung inflammation or infection. Their entire lives, they were in and out of the doctor's office. They even were in the hospital for two weeks with pneumonia.
I learned about Pulmozyme® (dornase alfa) from Dr. McCauley, and she told us how it would help liquefy the thick mucus that the twins had in their lungs, and so we thought that was a terrific partnership to the other meds that they were on.
The treatment for the twins went really well; and they still go really well. We set aside specific time slots; every morning and every night we do the treatments no matter what. They are just really active, creative children."
Product Indication: Daily administration of Pulmozyme in conjunction with standard therapies is indicated in the management of cystic fibrosis patients to improve pulmonary function.
Important Safety Information: The most common adverse events reported include voice alteration, pharyngitis, laryngitis, rash, chest pain, and conjunctivitis. Pulmozyme is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dornase alfa, Chinese Hamster Ovary cell products, or any component of the product. Pulmozyme should be used in conjunction with standard therapies for CF.
Because of the limited experience with the administration of Pulmozyme to patients younger than 5 years of age, its use should be considered only for those patients in whom there is a potential for benefit in pulmonary function or in risk of respiratory tract infection.
Please see the full Product Information for additional safety information.
Individual results may vary.
