Tumor Biology

The Tumor Biology group is focused on understanding how targets and pathways cooperate at the tissue level in order to facilitate our clinical programs in breast, lung, colon, pancreatic, ovarian, prostate, glial, renal and hematopoietic malignancies. Pre-clinical tumor models, cell-based assays and clinical correlative studies are used to:

  • Characterize mechanisms of drug resistance and tumor relapse;
  • Characterize next-generation anti-cancer agents;
  • Provide rationale for new drug combinations;
  • Identify disease subsets;
  • Identify biomarkers of drug response;
  • Study cancer stem cells; and
  • Contribute to our clinical pipeline through an improved understanding of the mechanism of drug efficacy and safety.
