We are currently recruiting for an Intern for the Patient Access portfolio which supports technology implements of systems, tools and processes used by Genentech Access Solutions.


Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, Developers, and User Experience Designers on scope, solutions, constraints, and risks
  • Analyze/document current and future business process models
  • Utilizes critical thinking skills and demonstrates fluent use of structured problem solving, including proactively identifying strategic barriers, process changes and improvements
  • Is trustworthy and reliable; follows through with commitments.
  • Engages in clear, two-way communication, listens actively and cultivates diversity of thought and perspective
  • Clarifies decision makers and parameters for decisions 
  • Influences the broader organization on important issues
  • Identifies and/or aligns on organizational change management needs, plans and executes effectively
  • Applies technical and business expertise to coach team on strategic account management and innovative problem solving. Maintain and grow current business expertise and share it with team members and other colleagues
  • Plan and allocate resources to effectively accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies critical to this role: 

  • Strategic Agility – Provides clarity and focus on a few key priorities and articulates wise, long term objectives and strategies.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration – Effective collaborator amongst their peers and partners, and is able to pull the team together around a common goal. Balances personal, team, and department priorities and is solution oriented in managing competing priorities.

Who You Are

  • 3rd or 4th year BA/BS in Business, Science, or Computer Science preferred
  • 5-7  years experience and demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Experience and understanding of application development methodology - including Agile and Waterfall approaches, functional requirements, process modeling and re-engineering, use case development, user acceptance testing, organizational change management, and large-scale system implementations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to quickly produce clearly written, well-organized documentation; excellent presentation and meeting facilitation skills
  • Proven skills in relationship building, customer-focus, decision-making, and problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn the business in unfamiliar areas
  • Experience and understanding of any of the following areas a plus:
    • Pharmaceutical/Biotech environment
    • Business processes in case management, reimbursement management and support
