The Position

The Position

We are looking for a self-motivated candidate to join the Biologics Sample Management Group within the BioMolecular Resources Department. He/she will help to further develop a state-of-the-art core facility for high throughput storage and distribution of biologic samples, such as DNA, RNA, and proteins, to support research and drug discovery efforts at Genentech.  Proven ability in handling and characterizing biologics is highly desired. The candidate is expected to participate actively in reagent distribution and management, process assessments and improvements, and daily interactions with stakeholders.  Experience with standard molecular biology techniques such as DNA preparation, sequencing and protein expression is preferred. Automatic liquid handling experience and a background in process optimization, method development and protein quality control analytical techniques is also desired. Experience with Titian Mosaic or other LIMS informatics systems is a plus.


 

Who You Are

A Masters Degree or a Bachelor's Degree with equivalent experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, or other related discipline is required. Candidates with at least 2 or more years of relevant industry experience preferred. Prior experience with biologics sample management, small molecule compound management or process development in another core group is highly desired. Successful candidates must have the following attributes: agile and open to change, process oriented with a passion for workflow optimization, be highly organized, self-motivated, with strong analytical and communication skills.  Must have demonstrated track record of ability and initiative to work independently in a collaborative team-oriented setting in line with the vision/mission of the core group.
