The Position

Roche/Genentech is seeking an Associate Medical Director or Medical Director to participate in the clinical development of a new agent for the treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease. The position will involve clinical development with a novel agent currently in Phase III clinical trials. The role involves clinical representation on cross-functional teams responsible for the design, implementation, medical monitoring, data interpreting, reporting and publishing of studies. Additional responsibilities may involve participation in clinical aspects of the Diagnostics program, as well as collaboration with Research and external partners including clinical investigators, clinicians, scientists and key opinion leaders.

Key Accountabilities:

Key contributor to the overall management, planning, evaluation and documentation of projects and studies.

Participation in on-going medicine development activities including:

  • Monitoring and reviewing incoming data
  • Analysis and interpretation of on-going studies and published data
  • Interactions with health authorities and expert bodies
  • Close collaboration with drug safety, regulatory affairs, medical affairs and clinical trial operations
  • Participation in the preparation of abstracts, posters and presentations for scientific meetings and congresses
  • Developing and writing clinical plans and protocols

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Scientific and clinical experience in Neuroscience required, with experience in Alzheimer’s Disease research preferred
  • Experience in clinical research including writing clinical study reports and interpreting clinical data required with experience with late stage drug development in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry highly preferred
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills with experience working with cross-functional groups
  • Confidence in presenting at internal and external meetings
  • Ability to interact effectively in a multifunctional multinational team setting
  • Working knowledge of biostatistics and pharmacokinetics.


MD or equivalent ex-US medical degree with board certification or eligibility in Neurology preferred. Experience in clinical practice and exposure to academic research.

  • Experience in clinical research at an institution actively participating in clinical trials or in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Clinical practice experience and strong scientific or development competence in the relevant therapeutic area demonstrated by peer reviewed publications or production of clinical expert reports.
