A position is available for a highly talented and motivated postdoctoral fellow to develop and implement multi-dimensional chromatographic tools for a faster and more effective characterization of biotherapeutics. The project will address the limits of standard analytical tools, such as one dimensional chromatography, that have become more apparent with the introduction of increasingly complex formats and manufacturing processes in our pipeline.
This project offers the unique opportunity interact with colleagues in the Small Molecules department at Genentech, the Analytical Development department at Roche and international academic institutions to optimize and improve our current workflows in terms of speed, sample handling and mass spectrometry compatibility.
Candidates must have a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field. A strong analytical background and demonstrated expertise in the field of analytical chromatographic (Ion Exchange Chromatography, Size Exclusion Chromatography, Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography, Reverse Phase Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry) tools used for the characterization of proteins is highly desirable and particularly important for this position. Successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills, strong independent thinking and the ability to compose manuscripts for publication. Strong collaborative, communication skills and the ability to work through problems logically and apply innovative solutions are required for this position.
Candidates should have a proven track record of relevant publications in the field of chromatography and first-author paper(s) published or accepted in peer-reviewed journals.
