This position is part of the Pharma Technical-Personalized Cancer Vaccine (PT-PCV) team responsible for the process development, manufacture and supply of personalized cancer vaccines (PCVs) in collaboration with a partner. PCV is an RNA-based cancer vaccine targeting neoantigens manufactured on a per-patient basis.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Personalized Cancer Vaccine team as a Supply Chain Logistics Coordinator. The candidate must be knowledgeable regarding international exportation and importation of human biologic sample logistics and transportation, temperature sensitive product logistics and transportation, and have a basic understanding of patient care and treatment scheduling and management. This person will be expected to be responsive to meet the needs of a rapidly changing global environment.
In this challenging role you will:
Be a contributing member of global study teams and routinely interact with Clinical Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, and external Logistic Couriers for the tracking of shipments including incoming patient specific samples, and vaccine shipments to treatment centers and Logistics Providers
Track patient specific biological samples from global clinical sites to manufacturing facilities
Coordinate shipping schedules, book, and track patient specific product shipments from manufacturing sites to global clinical sites & regional depot network
Coordinate the resolution of sample and product shipment delays and deviations with vendors, internal teams & partners. This also includes pro-actively identifying potential shipment delays and escalating as needed.
Investigate and resolve logistic discrepancies in a timely manner
Candidate will be responsible for assessing logistical challenges and making quick decisions regarding re-routing patient sample and product shipments
Candidate will be responsible for day to day decisions in collaboration with 3PL and logistic couriers
Candidate will be responsible for assessing new technologies related to GPS, temperature tracking, small parcel shipment designs and provide recommendations for implementation for the personalized cancer vaccine program.
Communicate product delivery changes to internal teams and partners
Provide updates and reports to cross-functional teams on shipment status, issues, and changes.
Oversee the relationship and manage 3rd party logistic providers (3PL) and partners to coordinate disposition of product, expiration re-labeling activities, and general project oversight.
Prepare, review, approve, and maintain importation and exportation documentation packages for existing and new countries as the clinical programs expand
Update internal tracking systems to monitor key logistics performance metrics, report out on key performance metrics related to logistics, identify and implement process improvements, and play a key role in issue management related to sample collections and product delivery
Help define logistics business processes for clinical operations and future commercial operations
Conduct periodic reviews of billing/invoices from logistic couriers and 3PLs
Contribute to additional program and project requirements as needed
Who you are
Bachelor degree in management, and/or sciences.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in logistics and/or supply chain discipline.
Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to positively influence key decision-makers.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction as well as part of a collaborative team.
Ability to work in a dynamic, high-pace environment, and effectively manage change
Ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders.
Good understanding of importation/exportation of human biological samples and investigational drugs.
Extremely detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, ERP, and third party logistic software systems. Working knowledge of Tableau preferable.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
English is mandatory, German preferable.
* This position requires up to 20% international travel and is based out of South San Francisco
