We have an exciting position open for a protein biochemist at the Senior Scientific Researcher level to join the Department of Protein Chemistry. The successful candidate will work both independently and collaboratively to develop and deliver novel therapeutics that address critical unmet medical needs. At the bench, responsibilities will include the design, purification and characterization of novel protein-based therapeutic candidates. Expertise in protein engineering and methods for the in-depth analytical characterization of complex proteins and protein conjugates is essential. The candidate will provide bench support for basic research and pipeline projects and effectively communicate to project teams. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to high-impact publications related to the job responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have the following requirements: A PhD in protein chemistry, engineering, biochemistry or a related discipline with two or more years of technical experience in these or related areas. Candidates should have demonstrated expertise in protein design/engineering as well as familiarity with techniques for bioconjugation to proteins and have a proven track record of publications that are relevant to complex protein production. The work will involve the application of purification and analytical methods including HPLC, LC/MS, FPLC, affinity purification, gel filtration, IEX, SDS-PAGE, SEC-MALS, etc. Expertise with standard text, graphic, and presentation software is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential and will be a major focus during the interview process. The ideal candidate will also be highly motivated and have strong problem-solving, analytical, communication and organizational skills.
