We are seeking a highly talented and self-motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow for a joint appointment in the laboratories of Ingrid Wertz and Joachim Rudolph in the Departments of Discovery Oncology and Discovery Chemistry. The research will focus on investigating unexplored ubiquitin signaling pathways and enzymes and developing chemical probes to co-opt these for pharmacological intervention. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and synthesis of bivalent ligand-based chemical probes and investigating them in a wide range of cellular, biochemical and molecular biology techniques. This will include the development and implementation of protein interaction assays, enzymatic assays, biophysical, and cell-based assays. Practical experience in the area of organic chemistry and a solid understanding of molecular biology and enzymology are required, and training in the area of chemical biology is preferred.
Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. degree with substantial experience in the areas of Organic Synthesis, Biochemistry or Chemical Biology and a demonstrated track record of success as evidenced by relevant publications in leading peer-reviewed journals. Candidates must demonstrate outstanding communication skills, ability to operate within multidisciplinary environments, creativity, and a high degree of intellectual independence. Attention to detail and enthusiasm for science are a must.
