The Position

The Business/Data Analyst Intern position is within the Data Services Team and will be responsible for working closely with partners across the US Medical Affairs lines of business and within IT and will be helping the team provide solutions that meet the business need with the necessary stability, usability, and scalability. This person will be supporting projects in the Data Services US Medical Affairs portfolio, and our customers are in Genentech US Medical Affairs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data, be a proactive thinker, has strong analytical skills, and enjoys solving complex problems.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze data from Oracle data sets using SQL
  • Identify trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter and clean data if required
  • Mock up data to facilitate end to end testing of the systems
  • Work with SQA on gaps identified during testing
  • Develop, test and write SQL queries
  • Document business functions and processes
  • Interpreting customer needs and translating them into functional specifications for the new system
  • Facilitate and run meetings with IT and business team members
  • Internship will span a minimum of 3 months in duration

  • Experience with Oracle databases
  • Proficient in SQL
  • Ability to follow and document technical processes
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Ability to learn fast and translate data into actionable results
  • Should be able to work independently and with a team
  • Excellent verbal and Written Communication skills
  • Bachelor of Science (Sophomore Level or Higher); Computer Science preferred
