The Bioinformatics & Computational Biology (B&CB) Department within Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED) seeks a motivated individual to join our team of talented engineers and analysts to create transformational software that assists in discovering groundbreaking therapeutics. As an informatics leader and senior software engineer, you will be able to understand the needs of our distinguished scientists and interface with key stakeholders in order to define and deliver informatics solutions that enable scientific innovation.

Work closely with diverse scientific stakeholders to understand and identify areas of unmet informatics needs.
Identify opportunities for filling these unmet needs via process improvements, software projects or a combination of both.
Work effectively with a geographically diverse team and collaborators to execute upon proposed solutions, ensuring clear and timely communication amongst all parties.
Ensure the solutions we deliver solve current problems, but are flexible enough to address future scientific and technological advances.
Who You Are
You have a BS degree (or higher), preferably in computer science, engineering, or a life sciences discipline.
You have 10+ years experience leading business teams in gathering requirements and delivering software solutions that leverage the Pega Systems Business Process Management (BPM) platform.
Pega-certified Lead System Architect (LSA) preferred
Experience with Pega 7.x and Pega 8.x is preferred.
Experience working in an early-stage life sciences or biopharmaceutical setting is a plus.
You enjoy working with customers and are passionate about collaborating with them to deliver them the greatest value through a combination of process improvements and software solutions.
You are pragmatic about the trade-offs between features, quality, and timeliness.
You are able to present, both verbally and in writing, your ideas and work to diverse audiences, including scientists, technical colleagues, and executives.
You are comfortable working in a scientific environment, especially one that is related to drug development.
