The Position

The general purpose of this role is to develop and execute a training curriculum to assigned functional areas (Managed Care and Access) in CMG. This role will apply in depth knowledge of a specific area and work cross-functionally and cross-portfolio to facilitate trainings and deliver relevant training materials.

The position will work within a core learning and development support team made up of managers, program trainers, project managers and administrative staff. These teams work closely with internal and external partners/stakeholders to ensure alignment of training programs with organizational objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create and deliver training programs that drive role effectiveness for the targeted audience across CMG.
  • Identify and effectively manage stakeholder relationships while leveraging internal resources to collaboratively develop training programs.
  • Serve as a strategic partner with the functional unit by identifying current gaps in training content and strategy, creating implementation plans and managing stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Refine existing training curriculum to align with evolving business priorities and create efficiencies across the organization.
  • Analyze, design, develop and evaluate training solutions including interactive instructor-led courses, self-instruction, online learning, job aids, pull-through and other performance-based solutions.
  • Recommend and develop assessment and measurement strategy including reporting.
  • Develop specific 90 day plans, 1-year and 3-year training plans that link to the strategic goals of stakeholders.
  • Complete all compliance training requirements. Reinforce with team the importance of adhering to compliance policies.
  • Raise questions proactively and seek advice as needed.
  • Lead, act and live our Operating Principles in all aspects of work

This senior level trainer:

Is expected to demonstrate a higher level of leadership, impact and experience than what is expected in the Trainer role. They are expected to:

  • Assist with on-boarding new team members and consistently mentor CMG Training & Development employees.
  • Be involved in higher-level stakeholder management.
  • Utilize expertise and experience to support Genentech stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate ability to act with greater autonomy and leadership in developing and delivering training and executing stakeholder management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required; Graduate level or higher degree is preferred
  • 7 or more years’ work experience in biotechnology or pharma is required
  • Previous Account Management, Field Sales Leadership or B2B sales in the healthcare industry preferred
  • Business travel by air or car is required for regular internal and external business meetings
