The Position

Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED) is seeking a talented Scientist to join the Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology Department supporting small molecule drug discovery. The successful candidate will be supporting early stage research and discovery projects including library screening, hit validation, SAR, and mechanistic studies using Mass Spectrometry (MS). On the biophysics team, we are technology leaders specializing in drug discovery, protein structural dynamics, and target engagement. This role will involve utilization of MS technologies to enable small molecule drug discovery and technological innovation is encouraged. In hiring new employees, we look for people who are inspired by our mission and thrive in our collaborative and scientifically rigorous culture. In addition to supporting cross-disciplinary small molecule project teams, there will be ample opportunity for leadership roles. We will support development opportunities for leadership as needed as the employee matures in the position.
