We are seeking an experienced laboratory animal veterinarian to join the Animal Resources department and expand our team. Our mission is to provide excellent service and support for Genentech’s in vivo research program. We collaborate with and provide expert support to our research scientists in the discovery, characterization, and development of novel therapeutic products for a variety of human diseases. We are dedicated to providing excellent animal care, progressive veterinary medicine, and expert lab animal science knowledge. This is an opportunity to join our team during a time of exploration and growth in areas such as microbiome and alternative in vivo models. This position reports directly to the Attending Veterinarian/Director of Animal Resources.

The ideal candidate will be ACLAM board certified, board eligible, or have advanced experience and expertise in the area of lab animal medicine. The candidate must have the ability to obtain a veterinary medical license in California.
The ideal candidate will have experience in building and leading teams, managing people and animal research facilities, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
The ideal candidate will have experience providing excellent clinical and surgical care in the lab animal field, including transgenic rodents, providing technical support to research projects, collaborating with researchers, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and AAALACi standards, and training/teaching research and lab animal staff.
This position is located in SSF, but willingness to collaborate across time zones and occasional travel to the Dixon facility is a must.
