We are seeking a highly motivated Product Owner to join our Translational Genomics group supporting Functional Genomics efforts across the Research organization. Our Translational Genomics efforts span the interface of human genetics, functional genomics, molecular biology, disease model engineering, and advanced computational methodology. This group works closely with our disease area scientists to identify new therapeutic hypotheses and advance transformative medicines.
Applicants should have an agile mindset, focused on solving real business problems and delivering value incrementally. You should be able to work in a fluid environment, and should have a strong desire to pursue creative solutions to challenging problems.
You understand the problems the scientists need to solve, document them and ensure they are understood by your collaborators.
You ensure we are bringing the greatest value to our team and our collaborators by working with the team to properly align and prioritize work with our key stakeholders.
You understand and document business processes and data they rely on. You identify issues in the processes, data and data related practices and propose improvements.
You develop and drive strategies to support our data driven organization.
You successfully work with software developers, technical architects, business analysts and support personnel to develop roadmaps, backlog items, and other artifacts which help the product team meet the business objectives.
You work effectively with a geographically diverse team and collaborators, ensuring clear and timely communication among all parties.
Who You Are
You have a BS degree or higher
You have at least 5 years experience in informatics product management.
You are comfortable contributing to information architecture. You ensure that data your software products manage is FAIR.
You are creative and curious, willing to take risks to lead our teams to create innovative solutions.
You stay current on software and data architecture tools and practices
You understand and preferably have experience in an agile software development lifecycle. You encourage experimentation, automation and support continuous learning and improvement.
You enjoy working with customers and are passionate about collaborating with them to deliver the greatest value through software products.
You are pragmatic about the tradeoffs between features, quality, and timeliness.
You are able to present, both verbally and written, your work to diverse audiences, including customers, technical colleagues, and management.
You have experience and are comfortable performing many roles on a team, including leader, individual contributor and analyst.
You are comfortable working in a scientific environment, especially one that is related to drug development.
