Corporate Communications Manager, Vacaville Site

Job Summary:

Develops, manages and implements the site-wide communication strategies and plans that will support Vacaville Operations.  These strategies will drive understanding, alignment, engagement and action among Vacaville personnel. Contributes to the Roche PT/PTM communications and change management networks to partner and share best practices.

This role will also oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of site events and initiatives such as community outreach, charitable giving, and site visitors.

This position plays a key role to ensure successful delivery of the site’s mission, goals and strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the site-wide internal communication strategy.  The strategy supports understanding and adoption of Vacaville’s desired culture, including its mission, values and organizational behaviors, as well as the site’s strategic position in the network and overall site strategic direction.

  • Serve as a communications consultant to Vacaville site, helping to drive the function’s business priorities and providing ghostwriting services as needed

  • Collaborate with various cross-functional leadership members in the development of communications strategies for various key initiatives

  • Coach leaders to build their communications and engagement capability

  • Lead, coordinate and execute personnel communication campaigns from a content and creative perspective across multiple channels for outreach to all personnel across Vacaville

  • Drive employee engagement and foster a sense of community while reinforcing the company values and vision

  • Collaborate with partner global and U.S communications (Corporate and Pharma/PT) 

  • Promote best practice sharing and adoption aimed at continuously improving network standard processes

  • Ensure coordinated and consistent communications and change management practices

  • Active membership on the Extended Leadership team for the Vacaville site

  • Manage a wide variety of situations, many confidential and time sensitive in nature

  • Support capability building of Vacaville’s workforce in the areas of communication

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Communication, or related discipline, with 8-10 years relevant experience.  Biotech or pharma experience is highly desirable

  • Strong understanding of evolving technology and communication platforms

  • Experience of translating complex information into relevant language according to the audience; including a proven track record in creating and writing compelling, sustainable and relevant communication materials

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects with a sense of urgency

  • Resilience and ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels of the company

  • Proven track record of developing personnel engagement and communication strategies to address complex business processes, challenges in a changing, dynamic environment

  • Ability to coach and influence peers and senior management

  • Experience directly engaging with senior management to develop and implement strategic communication strategies

  • Ability to mobilize the organization as a respected business partner

  • Ability to manage complex and sensitive communications/issue while maintaining strict confidentiality
