The Position

We are seeking a highly talented Senior Scientific Researcher to join the Department of Antibody Engineering.  This hire will focus on utilizing protein engineering to manipulate ligand-receptor interactions that are important in the regulation of innate and adaptive immunity in order to discover novel antibody- and protein-based therapeutics that expand our pipeline of large molecule drugs.  The candidate will be part of dynamic, highly motivated, and multidisciplinary teams focused on the development of novel engineering approaches to enable the precise control of desired immune cell functions, to unlock new therapeutic modalities, and to overcome barriers associated with existing medicines.  This position requires the candidate to carry out hands-on laboratory science and apply protein engineering principles to develop novel immunotherapies.

Who You Are

Requirements for this position include a PhD in Bioengineering, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related disciplines, or a BS/MS degree with 8+ years of research experience.  The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of understanding how protein-protein interactions and structure/function relationships dictate key cellular activities, particularly those that regulate innate and adaptive immunity. Extensive experience in protein design, molecular biology and cloning, and protein biochemistry is required.   Experience in structure-guided protein engineering, including the use of display technologies, is highly desirable.  Research experience with antibodies, antibody-based molecules, and/or cytokines is preferred but not essential.  This hire will work both independently and collaboratively, in the lab and at strategic levels, and present their research to the department and project teams.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary as this position requires working effectively with multidisciplinary teams.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to learn new techniques, problem solve, and have a sustained record of productivity, curiosity, creativity, and substantive scientific contributions.  Highly motivated candidates with a passion for innovation and commitment to science are encouraged to apply.
