General Position Summary & Purpose

Field Analytics & Insights (FAI) is a field-focused team within Strategic Analytics and Intelligence (SAI) that plays an advising role in helping Genentech achieve its goals and objectives through partnering with field teams and the functions that support them. FAI plays a critical role in enabling field teams with data, analytics, incentives, and tools teams need to effectively prioritize, plan, and manage their market and customer activities across the customer spectrum and life cycle of the products.
In this role, you will support the National Supply and Care Delivery Leadership Team in FAI by providing deep analytics, insights, and intelligence to make effective market and customer decisions. You will partner with many functions in SAI & throughout the Genentech organization (Squad, Marketing, USMA, National Team Strategy and Ops, Finance, Legal, Compliance, etc.) and lead cross-functional teams to better understand and assess the customer issues that impact distributors, 340B institutions, national health systems, the VA, and pathology companies, etc. for the Genentech portfolio. You will influence and pull through specific strategies and tactics at the national, ecosystem and customer level. You may also provide systems, tools, and reporting support as required for effective pull through and execution of market and customer strategies and tactics. This role is critical to identifying field opportunities and developing field strategy and tactics, but is not responsible for Genentech field strategy or execution.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as primary analytics and intelligence advisor to the National Supply and Care Delivery Leadership Team and guide and influence leadership to make data-driven decisions.
Influence National Supply and Care Delivery Leaders to achieve business results by considering national and local market dynamics and Squad objectives while pulling through portfolio priorities.
Perform business analysis to derive key insights and present recommendations effectively.. Example analyses include:
Field force customer alignment and targeting
Opportunity analysis
Account analysis and planning
Market landscape / situational analysis
Business review and variance analysis to goals
Portfolio pull through and national market optimization
Collaborate with partner groups to deliver business insights that are actionable and relevant, while considering a holistic view of the organization and portfolio
Support pull through via tools, processes and reporting to aid field teams to do their job effectively
Demonstrate a strategic, agile and customer-centric mindset to achieving business objectives
Contribute to and lead department wide initiatives
May contribute insights and perspectives into long-range business plans and other tactical plans
May support his/her manager in training and mentoring less experienced individuals
Successfully demonstrate our commitment to compliance by adhering to the US Pharma Code of Conduct and all relevant Genentech Compliance Policies as well as completing all training
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum BS/BA degree with Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, Healthcare or Healthcare Informatics concentration preferred. MBA or advanced degree desired.
8 or more years' work experience in management consulting, strategy or other analytical work in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare or other industries
Healthcare industry (e.g. managed care, distributors, 340B institutions, national health systems, VA, and pathology companies) knowledge
Demonstrated track record of leading and influencing cross functional teams and Senior Leaders
Experience developing and using Excel-based models as well as other modeling platforms
Experience with analytical tools (e.g., R, SQL, SAS, etc.) and BI/reporting tools (e.g., Qlik)
Strong strategic thinking and structured, problem solving skills
Strong attention to detail and project management skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and facilitation skills
Proven track record of developing strong and trusted relationships
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding objectives and goals
Business travel may be required
