South San Francisco, California
We have a great opportunity for a talented Senior Scientific Researcher to join our Molecular Biology Department and work in a group that develops and uses state-of-the-art technology for genome manipulation in vivo. The candidate will develop and use genome editing technology (e.g. CRISPR-based) in combination with classic genetics approaches to identify novel modifiers of disease and targets for therapeutic intervention. Department of Molecular Biology is a collaborative genomics and technology-focused department supporting basic and late stage research.
Who you are
Requirements include a Ph.D. degree, or equivalent, in genetics and/or molecular biology, with relevant postdoctoral experience. The candidate should have solid molecular biology skills and a strong publication record in a relevant field such as model organism genetics, stem cells, genome editing, and/or synthetic biology. Hands-on experience with CRISPR, NGS-based technologies (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, scRNA-Seq, Long-Read sequencing, etc.) and fluorescent imaging is highly desired. Basic knowledge of bioinformatics is a significant plus.
Qualified applicants will have exceptional organizational and communication skills, the ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a fast-paced team environment as well as a strong interest in technology development and for exploring the molecular basis of disease using in vivo models, genetics, and the latest genome editing/engineering technologies.
