We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced peptide chemist to fill a Senior Scientific Researcher (SSR) position in the Peptide Synthesis Lab, Department of Early Discovery Biochemistry. The position is primarily focused on synthesis and purification of peptide reagents to support various research projects, as well as to drive technology development projects. Additional responsibilities include advising the teams on different peptide-related matters, interfacing with outside vendors, keeping good lab records and actively participating in team meetings. The successful candidate is expected to work independently, deliver within timelines and develop close interactions with other engaged scientists from different areas.
Who You Are
The ideal candidate will have proven abilities to work both within a team and independently in a fast-paced environment and will possess the following skills and experience:
A Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry with a minimum of 2 years of experience with peptide synthesis in an industrial environment
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experiences with solid- and solution-phase synthetic techniques including native chemical ligation and microwave-assisted peptide synthesis
Strong skills with analytical instrumentation and chromatographic methods
Efficient time management and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
A record of success in synthesis of complex peptides such as macrocyclic, cysteine-knotted and ubiquitinylated peptides
Excellent oral and written communication skills
