Purpose: The Metrology Technician / Coordinator is responsible for coordinating service activities related to the calibration, maintenance and repair of Calibration Standards and Instruments. Responsibilities: - Interact with customers; including scientist, engineers and production staff to pick up Instruments in need of calibration or repair and collect technical information. - Perform shipping and receiving to external vendors of instrumentation equipment and Standards in need of calibration and/or repair. - Review and process external vendor calibration and repair documentation per established procedure. - Work with external calibration vendors and procurement to create and establish purchase orders (PO’s). - Manage blanket PO’s spending and request additional funds when necessary. - Verify stocking levels of Metrology required items and order as necessary. - Maintain Metrology Standards room according to 5S methodology. - Assist with the identification and purchasing of approved Metrology Standards. - Assist with the Calibration Vendor Qualification program to ensure vendors are qualified per established procedure. - Prepare documentation as the Master Data SME for inclusion into the CMMS. - Authoring and/or reviewing measurement data templates in the CCMS. - Develop new and/or revise maintenance strategies and work instructions for the Metrology group. Skills, Knowledge and Ability: - Must be a team player, works well with others. - Must have good oral and written communication skills. - Must be customer service oriented. - Must be detail oriented. - Must have experience with Microsoft Office suite. - Must be able to work with minimal supervision. - General knowledge of calibration principles and best practices. - General understanding of the International System of Units (SI). - General knowledge of cGMP and GLP practices is a plus. - CMMS, CCMS knowledge and experience is a requirement. SAP and BM RAM experience is a plus.
