The Position

We are seeking a Scientific Researcher/Senior Scientific Researcher with extensive experience in designing and conducting various in vitro assays to address ADME related issues arising in discovery lead optimization. The primary responsibilities of the position include:

  • conducting enzyme kinetic studies to determine definitive in-vitro clearance to support PBPK modeling
  • exploring, developing and validating new in vitro assays to address critical DMPK issues such as INIVC
  • designing and performing hypothesis-driven studies to elucidate clearance pathways or mechanisms such as non-CYP mediated clearance and extra-hepatic metabolism
  • supporting CYP inhibition and metabolic stability assessment in various biological matrices
  • acting as the in vitro ADME representative to support ESR/LSR projects

The successful candidate will work closely with our established team in the Small Molecule DMPK Department, performing both routine and mechanistic in vitro studies to support lead optimization in drug discovery. To accomplish this, the person in this position will use strong skills in LC-MS/MS instrumentation, method development and trouble-shooting.

Who You Are

Qualified candidates will possess the following skills and experience. The level of the position will depend on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biological Sciences or a related discipline
  • Relevant industrial experience is highly desirable
  • Practical hands-on bench experience in LC-MS/MS method development; senior level candidates will possess at least 6 years of experience utilizing LC-MS/MS for high throughput bioanalysis
  • Scientific understanding of in vitro drug metabolism
  • Solid understanding of various topics such as enzyme kinetics, plasma protein binding, in vitro hepatic clearance and CYP inhibition
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively, excellent organizational and reporting skills
