Senior Product Manager, Pathways National Account Marketing  - Managed Care Customer Marketing

 

Managed Care Marketing (MCM) plays a strategic role in helping Genentech achieve its goals and objectives through the development of leading marketing strategies for all Genentech/Roche pipeline and marketed products across all managed care customer segments. In addition, MCM plays a critical role in ensuring field-based managed care account management teams have the resources and tools they need to effectively represent Genentech and its portfolio across the customer spectrum.

 

As a member of the Managed Care Customer Marketing – National Account Marketing team, you will be aligned with a specific portion of the Access & Channel Management account management organization, serving as the marketing lead for the relevant team, helping to develop account strategies and execute on key account team strategic & tactical priorities as the Account Marketer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Specific account management team-aligned responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to cross MCCO pathway planning, strategy building and issue resolution oversight for prioritized brands and accounts. 
  • Pathways Marketing Lead will create a predictable and right-sized approach to pathways product planning, communication and issue resolution including coordination and communication across relevant Managed Care Marketing brand and account teams
  • Execute appropriate marketing tactics with the targeted accounts in partnership with the account executives and other members of the account team
  • Work cross-functionally with pricing, reimbursement, contracting, distribution, and brand teams to evaluate and address evolving pathway market dynamics and their impact on your targeted account teams both strategically and tactically
  • As assigned, support your manager or other MCM team members in developing and obtaining approvals for MCM budgets and other resources
  • Manage marketing/advertising agencies and associated budget to ensure high quality, timely deliverables
  • General strategic & tactical responsibilities
  • As appropriate, participate in development and delivery of 3-year strategic and 1-year tactical Managed Care Marketing (MCM) plans for assigned customer segments. As assigned, take the lead in translating 3-year strategic plans into 1-year tactical MCM plans, including objectives, goals and performance metrics to measure effectiveness and progress against goals 
  • As appropriate, contribute managed care marketing insights and perspectives into Long-range Business Plans and other relevant 3-year and 1-year strategies and tactical plans

Who You Are

  • Bachelors Degree
  • MBA or other related Graduate-level Degree is preferred
  • 5 or more years' work experience
  • 2 or more years' marketing experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry
  • Direct managed care experience - marketing, strategy, account management, or other roles - is preferred
  • Market research/analysis/planning experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry is a plus
  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related field sales or field sales management experience is preferred
  • Experience in completing and implementing attainable business plans
  • Has created and implemented new or enhanced marketing strategies, plans or tactics that have strengthened market positioning and financial results

Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding financial and/or other quantitative targets, as well as qualitative goals
  • Financial acumen and strong analytical skills capable of effective and efficient use of market research, value-based healthcare, business forecasts and other quantitative and qualitative data: demonstrable ability to use such data to inform and shape strategies, plans, activities, events, opportunities and the like
  • Strong communication & presentation skills
  • Strong organizational & time management skills:  proven abilities to effectively manage and complete multiple priorities and projects
  • Strong influencing & negotiation skills: proven abilities to influence others without authority
  • Strong interpersonal & partnering skills: proven abilities to work effectively and efficiently in cross-functional, often virtual and matrix teams
  • Strong customer orientation/focus
  • Business travel, by air or car, is required for regular internal and external business meetings
