Scientific Project Support provides funding for general research, translational research, other research or development projects, and/or other initiatives of research organizations, labs, and academic institutions. Research collaborations, clinical trials and associated correlative research involving or undertaken in relation to Genentech or Roche products (whether investigational and/or approved for other uses) are excluded from this type of support. Due to our 2019 year-end close process, the Genentech Funding Request System will stop accepting Healthcare-related Charitable Support, Scientific Project Support and Fellowship requests at 5:00PM PT, Monday, November 25 and will reopen for requests on Thursday, January 2.
This temporary closure only affects Healthcare-related Charitable Support, Scientific Project Support and Fellowships. Independent Medical Education and Philanthropic requests will continue to be accepted during this time.
It is important to note the Genentech Funding Request System cannot accept requests less than 60 days prior to the event/program start date. Therefore, if you plan to submit a charitable contribution request for an event or program occurring before March 3, 2020, please submit your request no later than November 25, to ensure consideration.
Pending requests with event/program dates beginning in mid-January 2019 or beyond will receive final decisions in the new year.

An organization with a written policy to discriminate based on race, religion, gender, gender expression and/or identity, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, military status, or any other protected status is ineligible for funding.
Genentech has a rolling review policy when evaluating funding requests for scientific project support. This allows qualified requestors the opportunity to apply anytime during year.
Requests must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the project/program start date. Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis; you will usually hear back from Genentech prior to the project/program start date.
All grants must abide by the terms in the Genentech Letter of Agreement (LOA), which is issued to an authorized signer of your organization once the application is approved.
