South San Francisco, Calif. -- July 1, 1999 --Genentech, Inc. today announced the appointment of Diane Parks as vice president of Marketing. Parks will report directly to William D. Young, chief operating officer at Genentech.
"Diane brings a wealth of experience to this key position," said Young. "I am confident that her experience and leadership will be a significant component to Genentech's continued success as we move forward with our strategy for growth."
Parks, 46, began her career as a senior marketing research analyst for Marion Laboratories, now known as Hoechst Marion Roussel. She spent 17 years with Marion and held various positions in product management and marketing, including vice president of marketing.
Parks will be responsible for overseeing all of Genentech's marketing efforts and will work closely with various departments at Genentech to maximize Genentech's revenue growth.
Parks holds a bachelor's degree from Kansas State University and a master's of business administration in marketing from Georgia State University.
