I joined Genentech in 2009 in the small molecule Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics department and have contributed to advance multiple drug discovery and development programs to treat neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, ophthalmic diseases, and bacterial infections. I greatly enjoy my work as I have the opportunity to invent medicines to treat a variety of devastating diseases suffered by many patients and to collaborate with the best drug discovery and development scientists in the world.

My research focus is to study drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics, to discover drug candidates that are both efficacious and safe for patients, and to advance clinical development programs. I am especially interested in developing innovative approaches to discover drugs, identifying ways to deliver drugs across the blood-brain barrier, and improving the methodology for prediction of human pharmacokinetics.
