Twenty Years of Dreams

For more than 20 years, the Dream Foundation has granted final “dreams” to adults who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses. The Dream Foundation never turns away a qualified patient; they deliver a broad range of experiences, whether adventures like skydiving, the fulfillment of lifelong dreams, like visiting the ocean for the first time, or final vacations and reunions with loved ones. In addition to these experiences, forty percent of the Dream Foundation’s work involves meeting basic needs for the families of patients.

We've been a financial supporter of the Dream Foundation since 2006, but our involvement doesn’t stop there. Across the country our employees volunteer their time to deliver these special dreams to patients and their families. “Genentech employees bring such joy and a sense of community to the dreamers,” noted Kisa Heyer, Executive Director of the Dream Foundation.

More than 20,000 dreams, along with lasting memories, have been delivered to dream recipients over the years. “This means more to me and my family than anybody will ever know,” said Gary Stewart, who recently received a trip to Disneyworld with his wife, Jayme, and five-year-old daughter, Bailey.

“While we cannot cure their diseases, we can dramatically impact the quality of their fragile lives with the joy experienced from a dream come true,” said Kisa.
