Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is evidenced in Genentech's Diversity Network Associations (DNA), a range of employee groups that drive and support community outreach. Some recent activities and achievements of these essential groups include:

  • African Americans in Biotechnology (AAIB) participated in African-American Community Health Advisory Committee's Soul Stroll for Health to build a healthy body and soul.
  • Filipino Americans Coming Together at Genentech (FACT) sponsored the American Heart Association's Heart Healthy Cooking and organized a corporate team for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
  • Genentech Out and Equal (GO&E) participated in the AIDSWalk and the Gay Straight Alliance.
  • Genentech Women Professionals (GWP) has worked with The Women's Empowerment Conference and local Girl Scout troops.
  • Latino Professionals at Genentech (VIDA) sponsored Groundhog Job Shadow Day at Genentech and Latinas Contra Cancer Mother's Day Walk.
  • Solidarity in Appreciation for Genentech Experienced Seniors (SAGES) participated in the WAVE Luncheon hosted by GirlsSource and honoring women age 70+ who've made significant contributions to the community.
  • South Asian Network at Genentech (SANG) supported the 12th Annual Festival of India Health Fair, which provided free health screenings.
  • NextGen (Future Leaders) volunteers joined together to help a local food bank, Second Harvest of San Carlos, sort donated food for families in need throughout the county.

    In January 2010, FORTUNE named Genentech to its annual list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For for the 12th consecutive year.

  • Science 2009 Top Employer

    In October 2010, Science magazine named Genentech "top employer in the biopharmaceutical industry." This is the eighth number one ranking for the company.

  • Fast Company World's Most Innovative Companies 2010

    On February 18, 2010, Genentech was named to Fast Company magazine's "World's Most Innovative Companies 2010" list.
