Genentech has its headquarters in South San Francisco, California, and several other locations dedicated to manufacturing operations. In March 2009, Genentech became a wholly owned member of the Roche Group, and Genentech's South San Francisco campus became the headquarters for Roche pharmaceutical operations in the United States. Starting with one rented building and two staff members, the company's South San Francisco site has grown to a full campus with multiple buildings. Today, the South San Francisco site is home to a research center, manufacturing operations and various business functions. Vacaville, California

Genentech's Vacaville, California, site is located on 100 acres in Solano County, approximately 50 miles northeast of San Francisco. Acquired in 1994, it was first licensed to produce a biologic in 2000. The site houses manufacturing operations as well as quality and administrative services.

Oceanside, California
| The first facility of Genentech's Oceanside, California, location was purchased in June 2005. The state-of-the-art commercial and clinical biologics manufacturing facilities are located on 60 acres about 35 miles north of San Diego. Upon U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) licensure in April 2007, the Oceanside facility added 90,000 liters of capacity that are initially dedicated to producing Avastin bulk drug substance. |

Hillsboro, Oregon

In 2006, Genentech purchased a 75-acre property 20 miles west of Portland in Hillsboro, Oregon, for the construction and development of a new state-of-the-art fill/finish facility. Genentech broke ground on the facility in December 2006. The new Oregon site is expected to be licensed and operational in 2010 and to employ approximately 300 employees by 2015.
The Hillsboro site is also the location for a new west coast warehouse and distribution center and was operational in July 2008. |
