Clinical Fellowships

Genentech offers clinical research fellowships in its South San Francisco Product Development Clinical Inflammation (PDCI) program.

As members of the PDCI group at Genentech, fellows work closely with top institutions and physicians to deliver on Genentech's commitment to develop novel therapeutics. The fellowship can last for up to one year and is geared towards third- and fourth-year fellows with a strong interest in clinical research.

By working as a fellow in the PDCI group, you will:

  • Be exposed to Phase I through Phase IV clinical studies for primary Genentech compounds;
  • Be involved with pre- and post-marketing clinical programs, including registry data management and analysis;
  • Interact with key external experts and clinical investigators;
  • Participate in key clinical strategy, implementation and molecule management meetings;
  • Assist in the decision-making surrounding therapeutic candidates coming into clinical development and mechanism-of-action studies leading to potential diagnostics for existing and planned clinical development;
  • Provide subject matter expertise to business development teams and clinical expertise for operational teams;
  • Participate in and prepare abstracts and presentations for key external conferences;
  • Be exposed to discussions on personalized health care (PHC).

Why should you become a Clinical Research Fellow?

Collaboration: Increasingly, quality clinical research requires fruitful collaboration between academia and industry.

Leadership: Genentech has generated large clinical databases from multiple randomized clinical trials and registries, and is a world leader in clinical research.

Training: Fellows seeking intensive training in clinical research, biostatistics, database review and publishing will benefit from access to these resources and Genentech staff skilled in clinical research.

Impact: Teams at Genentech will benefit from publications and input from these clinical research fellows.
