Prior to joining Genentech I completed my Ph.D in chemical engineering where I studied chemical systems (soft complex interfaces) using molecular simulations (molecular dynamics). This led me to be hired as a postdoctoral fellow at Genentech in 2019. Despite my prior work not being directly related to the advertised position, I quickly found there was significant cross-over between the two areas of study. Following the completion of my postdoc in 2021 I decided to stay at Genentech because of the interesting questions, freedom to explore new ideas, and collaborative team-based working environment. My current work into mathematical modeling of the mechanisms of non-specific protein small molecule interactions builds on the methods and technologies I developed as a postdoc, and I’m always excited to discover what’s next!
Postdoctoral Mentor
During my time as a postdoctoral fellow at Genentech. I was given the freedom to explore interesting and novel ideas. Overall, it was an enjoyable and rewarding experience. It is important to me to extend the scientific freedom and exploration that was provided to me to the next generation of scientists.
