Sandra Horning* has taken on cancer as a doctor, researcher, patient and as a leader of more than 4,000 clinicians and scientists at Genentech. In the past year, she has joined the dialogue on how to rapidly advance cancer cures at the American Association of Cancer Research annual meetings and participation in a National Coalition for Cancer Research congressional briefing.
There is a renewed national interest in cancer research and prevention sparked by Former Vice President Joe Biden’s Cancer Moonshot, which calls for cooperation and personal responsibility in the fight against this disease.
