"The magic of Genentech is the ability to walk down the hall and talk to a world expert in their field, have coffee with a mentor, and learn from a seasoned drug developer all in one day."
I joined Genentech in 2023 as a Principal Scientist in the Molecular Biology Department. Previously, I led the Biocontrol team at Outpace Bio, where I developed technologies to enhance CAR T cell therapy capabilities. Prior to that, as a Cell Design Fellow at UCSF, I focused on creating biological protein degraders and feedback circuits utilizing de novo designed proteins. I am passionate about advancing cell engineering through interdisciplinary research at the intersection of synthetic biology, genome engineering, protein design, and machine learning. My experience at Genentech has highlighted key bottlenecks in disease biology and drug discovery, which has refined my research focus toward solving critical challenges to drive impactful patient outcomes.
Postdoctoral Mentor
I view being a postdoc mentor as a unique opportunity to collaborate with the next generation of scientists and expand my own scientific perspective. The extensive resources and mentorship programs available to industry postdocs at Genentech provide an ideal environment for performing basic research while simultaneously gaining insights into the drug development process.
