GENENTECH GIVES BACK

We’re proud members of the communities where we live and work, and we believe we can have the greatest impact by focusing our efforts at the local level—both through our charitable giving and by empowering employees to give their time and talent to help serve our neighbors.

Since 2010, employees at all Genentech U.S. sites have joined together for Genentech Gives Back, a beloved week-long annual tradition where we come together to support nonprofit organizations in our communities through volunteering and giving. To date, we have volunteered more than 118,000 hours and contributed $4.6 million through grants and individual employee contributions.

Just as our communities evolve, so too does Genentech Gives Back. Each year, the program benefits a unique mix of organizations whose values and goals are aligned with our own — advancing diversity in STEM, improving health equity and building vibrant communities.

In 2023, Genentech Gives Back supported 176 nonprofits, including 16 organizations whose work aligns with our enterprise-wide commitment to advancing health equity. Beneficiary organizations included Nuestra Casa, Reach Out & Read, The 15 White Coats, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Leaven Kids, Adelante Mujeres, as well as local schools and food banks, and other organizations located near our U.S. sites.

Whether employees are on site or working remotely, have a few hours or a few minutes to spare, there are plenty of ways to get involved. They might hit the pavement for the Children’s Walk, an annual tradition at Genentech and Roche sites across the world; share their skills at one of the many curated Volunteer Day activities; or buy a t-shirt to support our beneficiaries.
