The Genentech Futurelab Scholarship supports diverse and talented graduating seniors from South San Francisco Unified School District who plan to pursue post-secondary degrees in STEM fields. Each year, the program awards 10 scholarships totaling more than $100,000 to students who demonstrate strong academic achievement, leadership and financial need.
Futurelab scholarships enable local students to realize aspirations that once seemed out of reach and connect them to dynamic STEM career opportunities available right in their own backyard. Since 2016 more than 10 Futurelab Scholarship recipients have worked at Genentech in various roles, including summer internships and long-term positions.
Futurelab Scholarship recipients are paving the way to future scientific breakthroughs in a wide range of STEM fields including neuroscience, computer science, aerospace engineering and biotechnology.
