The focus of my lab is to gain new insights into signaling pathways in cancer biology. We are interested in identifying and validating new targets to contribute to the oncology drug discovery efforts. Working at Genentech offers the unique opportunity to focus on both cutting edge basic biology and translating our basic science discoveries for therapeutic intervention to potentially help patients.
Postdoctoral Mentor
I know first hand how enriching and rewarding the postdoc program at Genentech is. Joining Genentech as a postdoctoral fellow in Vishva Dixit’s lab was one of the best career decisions I ever took. The postdoc program at Genentech offers the opportunity to immerse oneself in the best science possible and collaborate with excellent scientists across multiple disciplines. Postdoc projects advance basic science, which often lays the foundation for key therapeutic discoveries. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to be a postdoc mentor.

My Focus
My lab currently has two focus areas: (a) Understanding the basic biology of the hippo signaling pathway and how it is deregulated in various cancers; and (b) investigating the tumor suppressor BAP1 and uncovering its roles in cancer, metabolism and development. Broadly, my lab uses a variety of biochemical and proteomics tools, cellular and mouse models to investigate how signaling pathways are deregulated in cancers.
