"Solving complex biological puzzles to overcome disease is exciting and motivating."
I joined Genentech in 2022 to bring my passion for protein science to bear on the study of inflammatory cell death and signaling. I was drawn to the role because it offers the opportunity to perform cutting-edge science and translate novel discoveries into impactful therapies. It is incredibly humbling and inspiring to work alongside talented colleagues for the benefit of human health.
I developed a passion for mechanistic biology during my PhD in the labs of Susan Gasser and Heinz Gut at the Friedrich Miescher Institute in Switzerland. As a postdoc in Aashish Manglik’s lab at UCSF, I delved into the fascinating biology of G protein-coupled receptors using an array of structural, biophysical and biochemical methods.
Postdoctoral Mentor
The Genentech postdoc program offers early career scientists a wonderful opportunity to perform fundamental research in an industry setting. It is a privilege to work with postdocs and share their excitement and energy for high-risk, high-reward research projects. Not only is it wonderful to see scientists grow and flourish over time, but it is also deeply satisfying and motivating.
